A truly memorable evening is in store as local and national Welsh stars raise money for the Ray Gravell and Friends Charitable Trust.
This will be the first of annual concerts to be staged by the Trust and the evening includes performances from The Three Tenors, Rhys Meirion, Aled Hall, and Alun Rhys Jenkins; Lleisiau’r Cwm and the multiple award-winning Burry Port Town Band. The evening will be hosted by popular TV and Radio broadcaster Roy Noble OBE.
Last year the Three Welsh Tenors performed in Los Angeles and Seattle and have just returned after performing at the the opening of the Welsh North American Festival in Toronto. They have also released their second album, but it’s the audience at Carmarthen’s Lyric Theatre which will get the next big opportunity to experience the power of their performance during a special night in aid of the Trust.
Women’s choir Lleisiau’r Cwm is one of the most successful choirs in Wales, having won prestigious competitions such as S4C’s Welsh Choir of the Year, National Eisteddfod and Miners Eisteddfod winners, and the international Pan Celtic Festival. They are frequent performers in charity concerts and have raised thousands of pounds for good causes in Carmarthenshire.
Burry Port Town Band is a traditional brass band with a rich and proud history. Since the year 2000 the band has been Champion Band of Wales, National Eisteddfod Champions and also represented Wales in London’s Royal Albert Hall at the National Championships of Great Britain, on a number of occasions.
The entire evening is in the hands of Roy Noble, one of Wales’ best known and popular broadcasters. Roy is very much in demand as an After Dinner Speaker and his inimitable way of story telling leaves his audiences spellbound.
It should be a great night !
